The Luzio Vice-Chancellors PhD Award

We are delighted to announce the fourth year of The Luzio Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarship, set up in honour of the former Master, Professor Paul Luzio. The scholarship is open to a new Home or EU PhD student, of outstanding academic promise in the Arts and Humanities fields. One Scholarship is awarded each year and the award started in 2014-15. The scholarship covers the University tuition fee and an annual stipend for maintenance (for a single person only) for three years. The only factors taken into consideration in agreeing this scholarship are academic qualifications, references and research potential. The financial situation of applicants does not affect the selection of scholarship winners. Applications should be submitted via the Cambridge Trust.

This scholarship is available to PhD candidates in any field and is awarded every 3 years for full cost funding of the University tuition fee and an annual stipend (sufficient for a single person). This is funded partly by the College and partly by the Cambridge Trust. No separate application is necessary for this scholarship, just application to the University of Cambridge. However, it is only tenable to a student at St Edmund’s College. The scholarship(s) is awarded every three years (next available in 2022-2023).

The Duke of Edinburgh Vice-Chancellor Awards

The Duke of Edinburgh Scholarships are open to both Overseas (non EU) and Home and EU PhD students, in any discipline and cover the University Tuition fee and an annual stipend sufficient for a single person. The scholarships are part funded by a legacy and a generous donation from an alumnus, which are then matched by the Cambridge Commonwealth European and International Trust. The Cambridge Trust administers the awards, further details of which are available via the Trust. The scholarship(s) is awarded every three years (next available in 2022-2023).
