General Information regarding application through the Cambridge Trust for Graduate study
Applicants intending to pursue a course of graduate study or research at the University of Cambridge should complete and submit an online application through the Applicant Portal to the University’s Graduate Admissions Office by the specific course deadline. There will be two general course deadlines, 5 December 2023 and 4 January 2024.
By submitting one online application per course applied for, candidates will, where eligible, be considered for:
– admission to a course of graduate study or research by the University
– admission to a College by one or more of the Cambridge Colleges
– funding offered by the Cambridge Trust http://www.cambridgetrust.org/.
Students who apply by the relevant deadline and have been offered conditional admission will be automatically considered for any scholarship for which they are eligible.

Funding for Masters degrees
AGM Randeree Charitable Trust (RCT) Scholarship
The AGM Randeree Scholarship offers a unique opportunity for prospective students who are actively engaged in the British Muslim community to develop their leadership capabilities. Further details can be found on the AGM Randeree Scholarship website. Students must hold an offer of a place with their Department by the time of interview.
The McBurney St Edmund’s College MPhil Scholarship in Archaeological Science
The scholarship is for the best qualified applicant who applies for the MPhil in Archaeology, and who wishes to specialise in Archaeological Science, with a preference for those who have an interest in Geoarchaeology. Students with any fee status (Home/EU/Overseas) are eligible to apply. Applicant must have been accepted for a place on the MPhil in Archaeology with a specialisation in Archaeological Science. The scholarship is to the amount of £5,000 and is funded jointly by the Charles McBurney Laboratory for Geoarchaeology, St Edmund’s College, Professor Charles French (a Fellow of St Edmund’s) and private donations. Applications should be made in writing to St Edmund’s College, including a statement of no more than 1,000 words in support of your application. Applications should be made by 1st May 2024 and sent to admissions@st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk.
The Ebenezer Ademisoye MPhil Award
This award is for an applicant who has an offer at St Edmund’s College to study an MPhil and who is in financial need. Preference will be given to an applicant from a Black background.
Eligibility
Open to UK, EU and Overseas students.
Students must have been accepted to study at St Edmund’s.
Students must have been offered membership at St Edmund’s College.
Preference will be given to applicants with one of the following categories of ethnicity: Black African; Black Caribbean; Black Other; Mixed – White and Black Caribbean; Mixed – White and Black African; or Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other).
Candidates must demonstrate financial need.

How to apply
Applications should be made in writing to St Edmund’s College by sending a CV and a covering letter of no more that 1000 words outlining why you would benefit from the award, declaring how you meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrating your financial need. Applications should be made by 23rd June 2024 and sent to admissions@st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk.
The St Edmund’s College & CJBS Social Innovation scholarship
The studentships (£8,250 payable in 2023/24 and £8,250 payable in 2024/25) has been made available by St Edmund’s College in partnership with Cambridge Judge Business School for applicants on the MSt in Social Innovation.
St Edmund’s and CJBS welcome applications from any candidate, irrespective of nationality or geographical location. Applications are particularly welcomed from social sector practitioners (working at organisations with limited resources, such as NGOs, in particular).
To apply for this funding applicants will be required to submit an application to mstsocialinnovation@jbs.cam.ac.uk:
- outlining a social innovation idea (or a change project within an organisation) which the programme can help realise
- explaining how the candidate will be able to play a part in the life of St Edmund’s College.
Candidates must have received an offer to join the programme in October 2023 and membership at St Edmund’s College before they can be considered for the scholarship.

Funding for Undergraduates
Cambridge Bursary Scheme
The Cambridge Bursary Scheme provides bursaries to Home and EU undergraduates studying for a first degree of up to £3,500 (or £5,600 for some mature students) per year for students with household incomes of less than £62,215. The Bursary is in addition to the support available from the Government. Further details can be found here.

St Joseph’s Institution Scholarship
Students applying from St Joseph’s Institution or St Joseph’s Institution International for undergraduate study in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Land Economy, Law or Theology can apply to the SJI Foundation for funding equal to the College Fee.
Funding for all students
The St Edmund’s College Alumni Sports Bursary
Thanks to the generosity of a group of St Edmund’s College rowing alumni, the College is proud to offer a Sports Bursary for 2023/24 of £3,000.
The Sports Bursary will be available to a current St Edmund’s College student or offer-holder who is a University-level sports person and is, or will be, training with or trialling for a University Sports team, can demonstrate a high level of academic achievement and is in financial need. There are also a number of smaller awards available for other elite athletes, so applications are encouraged.
The deadline for applications is 9am on Monday 15th July 2024.
You can apply for the Sports Bursary by completing the Sports Bursary Application Form and the Student Budget Planner and returning them to Katharine Cantell at: knc23@cam.ac.uk.
The main Sports Bursary will be awarded in October 2024 upon matriculation to St Edmund’s College, but smaller sports awards may be available sooner, in certain circumstances. Please contact Katharine if you have any questions.
